MISS & JR. MISS APPLE FESTIVAL

1. Entry forms must be submitted by June 22, 2022 (Please see mailing address and E-mail address below).

2. All contestants are required to pay a non-refundable entry fee of $30. Fee must be turned in at the July 8th Meeting. There will be no exceptions (cash or credit only please).

3. All Jr. Miss Entrants must be at least 13 years old, but no older than 15 years old by the contest date. All Miss Entrants must be 16 years old, but no older than 18 by the contest date.

4. Headshot photos will be taken at the practices. Please do not bring in your own photo. Each contestant must wear a solid color long sleeve shirt and stud earrings only.

5. All contestants must be of good reputation and must never have been married, pregnant or committed any legal offenses.

6. All entrants must be residents of Niles Four Flags Area; Niles, Niles Township, Berrien Springs, Buchanan, Howard Township, or Brandywine OR attends one of the following school districts: Niles Community Schools, Edwardsburg Public Schools, Buchanan Community Schools, Berrien Springs Public Schools, Cassopolis, Dowagiac or Brandywine Public Schools.

7. For Miss Contestants who have graduated high school: You must be enrolled in college, and more than 1⁄2 of your credits need to be at a local college or university, within 30 miles of Niles. This is to insure you will be able to fulfill all requirements if crowned.

8. A personal biography of the contestant will be turned at the first practice. The biography will be available on our website at www.fourflagsapplefestival.org. The information provided will be used for newspaper articles and during the pageant. The biography is required to be typed. Remember, this is the judge’s first impression of you.

9. If crowned in the Jr. Miss Apple Festival or Miss. Apple Festival pageant, you will not be permitted to enter another pageant during your reign. If you do choose to enter another

pageant, you must relinquish your crown and all prizes (including scholarships)

immediately.
10. You will be required to provide your opening number outfit. The outfit requirements will

be discussed at the informational meeting Friday July 8th, 2028.
11. Jr. Miss Contestant’s formal attire should be tea length-knee length dress & shoes

should have no more than a 2 1⁄2 inch heel. Miss Contestant’s formal attire should be a floor length gown. Nylons are required for all contestants. No open back shoes will be permitted.

12. All contestants are allowed to miss two excused practices. The only acceptable excuses are; illness, vacation, or school related activities. There will be zero unexcused absences allowed. The judges will be notified of all unexcused practices, tardiness and punctuality of the return forms.

13. Cell phones will not be used during practices. Contestants may leave them at home or place them in a basket with a pageant committee member.

14. Contestants are required to bring both walking (heels) and opening number shoes to every practice. If the correct shoes are not present, the contestant will sit out for that portion of practice.

Parent’s Release

We hereby certify that we are the legal guardians of the above named entrant and herby give our consent for her to compete in the title of Jr. Miss/Miss Apple Festival 2022 and to participate in all of the official events pertaining thereto.
